The Volvo S60 Launches in India as a Luxury Sedan for Executive Drivers

Volvo is a Swedish automobile manufacturer and the S60 is their entry into the compact executive car market.  It was first released in the year 2000 and Volvo is now on the second generation of this popular vehicle.  In terms of the Indian market, the Volvo S60 is pitching itself against some fierce rivals such as the Audi A4, the BMW 3-Series, plus the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and is intended to be a luxury sedan choice for drivers with a budget that starts at Rs. 27 lakhs.

Now launched and ready to buy in India, this car is aimed at those executives who want something a little bit sportier than the average sedan.  Only time will tell whether the car gains a foothold in the Indian market, but it certainly has an excellent heritage with the Volvo brand.  With the release of the S60, it would appear that Volvo have moved closer to offering their full range on the Indian sub-continent,

Features of the Volvo S60

Being a luxury executive sedan the S60 comes pack full of high-end features that won’t disappoint even the most demanding of customers.  When compared against the Acura RL which is another luxury sedan, the Volvo edges it.  I think this is because the overall design which incorporates a much sportier feel makes it a lot more desirable for a driver who wants to make a statement.

It even includes some unique features that you will not find on rival cars.  For example it comes with something called “pedestrian detection” meaning it will alert you to any potential hazards stepping out into the road and will automatically apply the brakes.  Other features to make not of include:
